COMMUNITY SERVICES
SOCIAL SERVICES
The Kennedy Center’s five case managers (three of whom are fluent in Spanish or
Mandarin) provide residents of Charlestown with a variety of social services to overcome
the stressors related to poverty, assisting them to develop skills to help themselves.
They staff the Children’s Programs, the Community Resource Center and our central
office at 10 City Square. They help residents find resources, obtain counseling for a
range of issues, find jobs or education opportunities, and help with emergency needs.
They can also help residents coordinate services from other providers. The aim is to
give people a hand up, not a hand-out. Call 617-241-8866 for assistance or email us at

EMERGENCY SERVICES

care, housing, and clothing. They coordinate services with other providers such as the
Salvation Army, the Charlestown Fireman’s Fund, and Traveler’s Aid, and are able to

PARENTING EDICATION AND SUPPORT
Erica Schwartz, M.ed., LMHC, LADC-1 offers a variety of ongoing and time limited
workshops for parents about issues of interest to parents of young children. She is also
available for individual consultation. Call her at extension 1335 or
eschwartz@kennedycenter.org for information.
