The goal of this position is to implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum for the Kennedy Center’s highly professional and nurturing Head Start, Extended Day, Toddler, Preschool, and School-Age Child Care services and to ensure compliance with all licensing and accreditation requirements. To be a member of the Children’s Services team and to stay current on regulations, standards, and policies.

Compensation: $22-$26/hr.

Representative Listing of Essential Job Duties:

  1. The Teacher will assist the teaching team with maintaining a safe, healthy learning environment.   
  2. The Teacher will complete accurate documentation of children’s developmental progress.
  3. The Teacher will assist in the planning, creating, and implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum based on children’s strengths, needs, and interests.
  4. The Teacher will support parents and provide resources and make referrals as needed. 
  5. The Teacher will provide accurate documentation to the Children’s Services management team.
  6. All other duties as assigned by the Education Coordinator and Director of Children’s Services.

Required Competencies: 

Educational Requirements: 

  1.  Associate, Bachelor’s degree, or Master’s degree in ECE or related field
  2.  Minimum of  Teacher qualification from EEC

Experience Requirements:

 Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a licensed early childhood education program.
